Keyword phrases

The words you choose to draw people to your site can make a big difference in the success of your web site. Choose a phrase that is too broad — "good health," for example, or "success" — and you run the risk of seeing your web site buried along with thousands, even millions, of other links. On the other hand, a phrase that makes the selection too narrow — "7 ways to sell townhouses in Bermuda," for example, and you may pick up only a few random hits from people who have no real interest in your business.

With a few keystrokes you can list words and phrases as "keywords" on the source page of your web site. It's not easy to guess — correctly — the words your prospective client will use when they are looking for the product or service you offer. For example, you may assume that your selection of intricate hand blown glass objects will sell best with the keyword phrase "blown glass." Later you may discover that you make more sales when you use the phrase "hand blown glass" — even though "blown glass" pulls more responses. The more specific keyword phrase may therefore give you a better return on your investment.

At Throckmorten Enterprises we use off-the-shelf software as well as a variety of proprietary methods to come up with a short list of keywords and phrases that promise to deliver the results you need. You are free, of course, to experiment with different combinations of keywords until you are satisfied with the quality as well as the quantity of visits to your site.

This painstaking methodology we use has helped us achieve spectacular results with some web sites. Check out some of those results.
